Dr. Kenneth Lowry has practiced in Florence with Palmetto Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons for the past 35 years. He and his wife, Kristin have raised three children and now enjoy four grandchildren who also live in Florence. He is an Elder at First Presbyterian Church and serves on the Boy Scouts of America PeeDee District Executive Council. He is a former Rotarian and member of the Executive Board of the PeeDee District of the American Cancer Society.
Dr. Lowry graduated, with honors, from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He completed a Rotating Internship at Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester. His Oral Surgery training was completed at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where he served his last year as Chief Resident and Teaching Fellow.
Dr. Lowry is a member of numerous profession organizations, including the South Carolina Dental Association, The American Dental Association, The South Carolina Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and The Florence County Dental Society. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Fellow of the America Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He was a Fellow in the International College of Dentists. He has in the past served various positions including being President of the S.C. Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has also served the SCDA as a member of House of Delegates and as a member of the Board of Governors. He has held several positions with The PeeDee District of SCDA including serving as their President.
He has been A Clinical Associate of the Department of Oral Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. He was the first recipient of The Carlos Salinas Award for Excellence Treating Individuals with Special Needs given by The Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Lowry has surgical privileges at McLeod Regional Medical Center and Carolinas Hospital Center. He is a consultant to The PeeDee Department of Special Needs and Disabilities in Florence and The Saleeby Center, in Hartsville.
Dr. Lowry has an interest in volunteer work as well as special needs patients and has gone on numerous Short term mission trips to Ecuador, Belize, Peru, and Rwanda, Africa. He has participated in the DADS program, and provides care for patients of Mercy Medicine and the Darlington Free Clinics.
In his spare time he enjoys time with his family, boating, kayaking, traveling and biking adventures.
